Lebanon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said it granted temporary licenses to three local companies to set up and operate their own networks to provide internet services, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency. The three companies, namely Trisat sarl, LCNC sal and Waves sal, would provide data and internet services using broadband frequencies. This brings the number of companies licensed to provide similar services using their own networks to 24, according to the same source. These companies would start setting up their networks in the Greater Beirut area, and then would gradually expand to other Lebanese regions, according to the news agency.
