H.E. Eng. Mohamed Jamil Bin Ahmed Mulla, Saudi Arabian Minister of Communications & IT, inaugurates tomorrow (Sunday, April 25, 2010 / Jumada al-Awwal 11, 1431 (H)) GITEX KSA 2010, a premier business-to-business networking event and leading consumer ICT showcase being held until April 29, 2010 / Jumada al-Awwal 15, 1431(H) at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre.
GITEX KSA 2010, which runs concurrently with Saudi Communications 2010, will present a comprehensive range of ICT products and services and will introduce a selection of new technology innovations, including Rapid Deployment Units, Alternate Wind & Solar Energy Solution for powering sites, Fibre Optic Turnkey Services, GIS, signalling and telecommunications solutions, BTS Monitoring Devices, interactive technology services, and theatre rigging systems.
More than 450 leading companies from over 17 countries have confirmed their participation at GITEX KSA 2010 / Saudi Communications 2010, taking advantage of Saudi Arabia’s excellent growth potential wherein IT spending has been projected to increase to around SAR 18.1 billion by 2013. Likewise, Saudi Arabia has the biggest IT market in the Gulf region, with a forecast value of SAR 13.87 billion in 2010 expected to rise to SAR 19.5 billion by 2014, according to the Saudi Arabia Information Technology Report published recently by Business Monitor International.
Moreover, internet content development and telecommunications equipment collectively offer one of the brightest opportunities for local, regional and international suppliers as the number of internet users in Saudi Arabia continues to increase, rising to 9.8 million people or 38.5 per cent of the population in the first nine months of 2009.
Mohammed Al Hussaini, Deputy General Manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company, organiser of the event, said: “The main aim of this fair is to provide people with new and contemporary ways of being more efficient and punctual in a fast-paced, modern world. We have accordingly assembled a formidable line-up of manufactures and specialists from China, Egypt, Germany, India, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA and other countries to showcase the latest innovations and cost-effective ICT solutions at GITEX KSA / Saudi Communications. The diverse selection of premium-quality products and services provides trade visitors and buyers with a wider range of choices and greater flexibility to explore the best solutions for their respective ICT requirements. The excellent exhibitor response confirms the sustained interest among global and regional companies in emerging prospects in Saudi Arabia as well as in the greater MENA region’s ICT sector.”
GITEX KSA 2010 / Saudi Communications 2010, which is sponsored by the Saudi Telecom Company (STC), will offer a complete showcase of telecommunications equipment, systems, networking, IT solutions, software/programs, office automation, PCs and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices, educational tools and digital entertainment solutions. Over 100,000 local and foreign visitors are attending the event, ranging from potential buyers, deal sealers, major business owners, IT professionals and governmental decision makers.
GITEX KSA 2010 / Saudi Communications 2010 is presenting a wide range of products and services that cater to the full spectrum of Saudi Arabia’s diverse ICT segments. This year’s event will occupy over 15,000 square metres of exhibition space.
